Lady Eagles move to 4-0 with win

The Goshen Lady Eagles varsity volleyball team improved to a perfect 4-0 on Tuesday evening when they defeated the Elba Tigers in straight sets 25-13, 25-11 and 25-8.

The varsity squad wasn’t the only team to beat the Tigers on Tuesday. The junior high Eagles defeated the Tigers in three games 26-24, 11-25 and 15-12.

The junior varsity Eagles also won on Tuesday, defeating the Tigers 25-16 and 25-15 to improve to 5-7 on the season.

Olivia Kyzar finished with three aces, four points scored, four kills, nine assists and five digs. Caitlin Hughes had three aces, eight points scored and eight digs, while Avery Henderson finished with two aces, three points scored, three kills and seven digs.

For the varsity, Kelsey Gibson had 12 kills, 3 digs and 1 block. Jada Hall had three aces, 14 points scored, four kills and one dig. Kate Warrick finished with three aces, eight points scored, one kill and 19 assists. Hannah Calhoun had six aces, 11 points scored, one kill, three assists and 10 digs.

The Eagles will be in action on Thursday night when all three teams travel to Zion Chapel to take on the Rebels beginning at 4 p.m.
