The Brundidge Historical Society will hold its final auditions for the fall production of “Come Home, It’s Suppertime from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the We Piddle Around Theater in downtown Brundidge.

Play dates are November 9, 10 & 11 and 16, 17 and 18.

Mernette Bray, play committee chair, said the committee is continuing to audition those who would like to be a part of Alabama’s Official Folk Life Play.

“At this point in the auditions, we are encouraging anyone who would like to be a part of the cast or crew to come to the auditions,” she said. “Some people have indicated that they would like to work with the wardrobe or props. Others have shown an interest in staging and publicity. And we certainly welcome singers and musicians.”

Bray said it’s fun and rewarding to be involved with the folk life play.

“There are many way to be involved — singing, sweeping the floor, washing dishes or standing in for one of the storytellers,” she said.

Acoustic musicians and a harmonica player are high on the priority list for the fall production of “Come Home, It’s Suppertime” along with a woman who can sing the blues like nobody’s business, Bray said.
