SARHA receives perfect score on federal review

Southeast Alabama Rural Health Associates (SARHA) recently scored a rare perfect 19 on a federal review of its clinical, quality and operational performance.

The score comes on SARHA’s most recent Operational Site Visit (OSV) by the US Department of Health & Human Services, Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Primary Health Care. The reviews come once every three years. The final results from the site visit provide a comprehensive assessment of the organization’s compliance and performance status. The SARHA organization successfully fulfilled all 19 requirements at this year’s review.

Perfect scores are extremely unusual and the accomplishment of fulfilling all 19 requirements places SARHA among a very small number of community health centers nationwide. The reviewers did not hesitate to say what a remarkable site visit it was and they all agreed that the SARHA organization goes above and beyond the requirements and demonstrates its commitment to provide high quality healthcare.

“This is a huge accomplishment,” said CEO John Little. “Our employees work hard every day to keep up with the mission and vision that is set for this organization; and without that work and commitment, success like this would not be possible. Everyone plays a vital role and receiving the results of a 19 out of 19 two years in a row is proof that when everyone works together good things happen.”

SARHA completed their last review in 2014 and it too was a success when all 19 requirements were met. It is evident that the mission of the organization has been and will continue to be to provide the highest quality of care to the communities that it serves.

“It doesn’t matter if you have worked here for 1 year or 31 years,” said Kady Pugh, Director of Community Relations at SARHA. “As a member of the SARHA family, we all have one common goal and that is to see that the patients we serve receive the best care possible. That doesn’t mean we all do the same thing to deliver that care, it just means that we each do whatever it takes as a team to deliver the care that our patients and communities fully deserve.”

As a result of SARHA’s perfect score, the organization will remain eligible to receive grant funding from HRSA for growing programs and continue to provide stability in delivering comprehensive care to the residents of southeast Alabama.
