Deputies with the Pike County Sheriff’s Department recovered eight bags of marijuana and 12 Xanax pills Friday during the search of a residence according to Sheriff Russell Thomas.

“The bags of marijuana were packaged to sell,” Thomas said.

In addition to the illegal drugs, Thomas said they also found a set of digital scales and seized $930 in cash at a residence on Pike County Road 3339 in the Tarentum community.

Ekiston Tavois Flowers, 33, who lives at the residence, was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

“This was part of an ongoing investigation,” Thomas said. “This information was developed and we followed it to this end result.”

Thomas said the department had been investigating Flowers as a potential dealer for some time.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation and arrest.
