Michael Ray Benton, age 24, of Troy, AL, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Jackson Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev.’s Joe Levrett and Louis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5-7pm at Dillard Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Davis, Evan Strother, Jackson Nelson, Charles Turnipseed, Earlene Newman and Taytom Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jayden Barnes, Sam Carroll, Josh Davenport, Robert Benton, Donna Chancey Evans, Jamie Newman and Lamar McFolley.

Mr. Benton is survived by his father, Michael G. Benton; mother, Kimberly M. Benton; brother, Robert E. Benton; sister, Kayla R. Benton; grandparents, Donald Ray and Gena Murphy of Troy; grandmother, Bobbie Benton of Troy; aunts, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Thweatt (Helen) of Sylacauga, Mr. & Mrs. Donnie Knotts (Connie) of Troy and Ms. Marsheela Brasher of Pell City; uncle, Mr. Robert Benton of Troy, and a host of cousins and great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Douglas Ray Benton and his aunt Donna R. Murphy.
