Roberta Free Courson, age 72, of Springhill, AL, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her home.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 2:00pm at Springhill Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Courson is survived by her husband of 35 1/2 years, James Richard Courson; 2 sons, Jeff McCann (Amy) and Jeremy Smith (Lisa); daughter, Keisha Ellis (Tony); 2 granddaughters, Lindsay Berry (Richard) and Marley Grace Smith; 3 grandsons, Parker McCann, Taylor McCann and Matthew Ellis; 3 great grandchildren, Dustin & Tanner Berry and Kaylee Calhoun and 2 sisters, Odessa Ballard and Elsie Sheffield (John).

She was preceded in death by by her mother, Algie Free; 3 sisters, Betty Jean Free, Marlene Oaks and Juanita Taylor and 2 grandsons, Justin Calhoun and Gunner McCann.
