Football is in the air as the Troy Trojans get set to open up their 2017 fall camp on Sunday, July 30.

The Trojans took part in the Sun Belt Conference Media Day in New Orleans on Monday and beginning on Sunday Troy will kickoff their first of 15 practices before they open up the 2017 season on the road against Boise State on September 2. The Trojans elected to move the start of camp forward a few days because of the two new NCAA regulations regarding two a day practices.

Troy’s first practice will begin at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, the same day they are required to return to campus.

The Trojans will practice 12 times leading up to their first of two scrimmages on Saturday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. That day will also serve as Troy’s Media Day Luncheon.

Troy’s final scrimmage will be on August 18 beginning at 5 p.m. and it will be Student Appreciation Night inside Veterans Memorial Stadium.

All practice sessions are free and open to the public.

Fan Day will take place on August 19 from 1-3 p.m. Fans can come out and get autographs from Trojan players, coaches and cheerleaders. The Football Kickoff Party will close out the day beginning at 6 p.m.

When the Trojans hit the field in Boise, they hope to carry over last season’s success that included them getting to the 10-win mark and being ranked in the Associated Press for the first time in their Division-I history. The Trojans return 17 starters from last season’s team that finished the year as the Dollar General Bowl champions.
