The Dixie Youth AAA and Majors state tournaments began today at the Troy Sportsplex featuring 23 teams from across the state.
The tournament kicked off with opening ceremonies Thursday afternoon with each team being introduced to the hundreds of fans in attendance.
Mayor Jason Reeves threw the opening pitch, and Public Relations and Tourism Director Sheila Jackson sang the national anthem.
The games have officially begun, starting at 5 p.m. Thursday.The games will continue until Tuesday, when the state championship will be held.
