Post 70 knocks off Twins

Post 70 rode strong starting pitching to a 3-1 win over the East Cobb Twins on Thursday in the third day of the East Cobb Showcase.

Nathan Light got the start for Post 70 against the Twins. Light pitched three innings and allowed one unearned run and no hits. Jackson Tate and Hunter Jones both closed out the game with two shutout innings.

Post 70 picked up seven hits led by John Miller and Tate who both went 2-3 with an RBI. Gage Herring, Bryson Gandy and D.J. Law all had one hit.

Post 70 jumped on the board first in the bottom of the second inning when Law scored on a balk.

The Twins evened the score in the third after an error by third baseman Logan Thompson.

Post 70 answered quickly in the bottom of the third inning when Gandy scored on a Tate single to centerfield and Tate came around to score on a single by Miller.

Post 70 will head to Columbia, Tennessee, today to take part in the Independence Day Classic. Post 70 will begin the classic at 5:30 p.m. against Terre Haute Post 346.
