Our deeply loved, Benjamin Lee Knight, age 26, finished his race shortly after reaching a summit in the mountains of Arizona on Sunday, June 4. While doing what he loved and after reaching the top, Ben’s life on earth was complete. Just 3 weeks ago, May 13, 2017, after hours of discipline and hard work (and kickball), Ben became Doctor Benjamin Lee Knight of Physical Therapy. He was excited about relocating to finish out his clinical in Phoenix, Arizona. Ben Knight was known for his huge heart of compassion and acts of kindness. He was a selfless servant, a defender of the broken and widowed, and a tender hearted man who lived life to the fullest by deeply loving those he surrounded himself with. We are full of gratitude for God’s plan and purposes for his life and the strong love we have share.

Ben graduated from Auburn High School in 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Troy State University and most recently, his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Alabama State University in Montgomery.

The amazing blessing and gift of Ben’s life was graciously granted to his infinitelygrateful and very proud parents, Cliff L. Knight and Toma Ford Knight of Auburn, Alabama. There was an amazing bond, deep love, eternal loyalty and friendship that Ben shared with his siblings; Rebecca Leighan Knight of Tyler, Texas, Whitaker Ford Knight of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Ansley Kate Knight and Clay Mitchell Knight, both of Auburn, Alabama. Ben adored and cherished his grandmothers; Luna Dunnaway of Slocomb, Alabama and Martha Ford of West Point, Georgia. He was loved dearly by his thirty cousins, seven uncles and five aunts. Ben was preceded in death by his beloved “Papaw,” Hayden Thomas Ford, Jr. of Auburn, Alabama, and his infant brother, Cliff Lamar Knight, Jr.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, our feet are firmly planted in the love and faithfulness of our God. He will sustain us with His great mercy and love. “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” Psalm 62:1-2

His funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn with Reverend Al Jackson officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be Friday evening, June 9, 2017, at the church from 6:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery.
