Troy BOE makes new hires

The Troy City Schools Board of Education approved personnel actions during a called board meeting Thursday morning.

The board accepted three resignations: Amy Bennefield, Charles Henderson High School math teacher; Mike Bennefield, CHHS driver’s education teacher; Elaine Worth, CHHS science teacher.

The board approved seven new hires: Andrew Lowery, Charles Henderson Middle School PE teacher and head football coach; Nneka Anelu, CHHS math teacher; Doug Fontaine, CHHS math teacher; Michael Ray, CHHS science teacher; Justin Veazey, CHHS career prep teacher; Jay Ware, CHHS science teacher; and Travis Baxley, CHHS driver’s education teacher.

The board also approved two non-renewals: Tiffany Jackson, Troy Elementary School child nutrition program, and Zachary Calhoun, CHMS math teacher.
