Mrs. Geraldine Dykes Davis, 85, entered into the glorious presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Troy Regional Medical Center. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her character.  Mrs. Davis’ legacy includes a deep love for her family and all children.  She was a public school teacher, an excellent homemaker and cook and found great delight in service to others. Mrs. Davis was born August 10, 1931 to Lester and Jimmie Lee Mott Dykes who preceded her in death.  She is survived by one son, Ashley Davis (Kathy) of Troy and three daughters; Barbara Sanders of Birmingham, Wanda Spradley (Don) of Troy and Susan Grace (Dorman) of Jasper, AL.  She is survived by four sisters: Carolyn D. Darrow of Statesville, NC, Sue D. Cochran and Becky D. Gibson (Tony) of Union Springs and Nell D. King of Banks.  She was affectionately called “Mama Dean” by her seven grandchildren; Will Davis of Jacksonville, FL, Jenny Davis Meadows (Brian) of Troy, Rebecca Sanders Valverde (Luis) of Birmingham, Cade Grace of Jasper, Judson Grace of Auburn, Davis Sanders of Columbus, GA and Amelia Spradley Shelley (Tanner) of Montgomery.  She was also blessed with six great grandchildren: Jacob, John, Sarah and Nicole Meadows of Troy and Gabriel Dean Valverde and Carmen Valverde of Birmingham.  Her friends and the staff of Noble Manor became her second family. Celebration of Mrs. Davis’ life is Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10:00 am at Salem Baptist in Brundidge.  Interment will follow in Ramah Cemetery in Josie, AL with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.  Visitation will be held  at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Pallbearers are her grandsons, nephew Buddy King, friends Tripp Thrash and Joe Wilson.
