The Humane Society of Pike County is hosing an event for the Pike Animal Shelter titled “It’s Raining Cats & Dogs: A Shower For Our Shelter Babies” from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pike Animal Shelter on the Henderson Highway.
Tickets are $25 each, $40 for couples and $60 for households.
For tickets, contact any member of the HSPC or visit Humane Society of Pike County’s website.
“Only a few tickets are left and all of the funds raised will support our new animal shelter,” said Donna Brockmann, HSPC president.
“We have a night of fun planned with lots of educational information available and a basket load of great door prizes.
“Because this is a ‘shower’ for our baby animals, I asked Jacqueline Meeks, our shelter director, for a list of the three most needed items at the shelter. Not surprisingly, food for dogs and food for cats were the top two needs followed by bleach. Cleaning items are always needed at any animal shelter.”
The animals are “registered” at all Pike County grocery stores.
Brockmann said those attending the “It’s Raining Cats & Dogs” shower will be given a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the new Pike Animal Shelter.
“This event in no way supersedes any grand opening or similar event, which the Pike Animal Shelter may hold in the future,” Brockmann said.
“This is our ‘social’ to raise some funds for the Pike County’s shelter animals.”
