William Carroll Day

William Carroll Day, age 48, a native of Troy, Al, a resident of Mobile, AL, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Troy, AL on February 20, 1969 to William Ray and Jennifer Ellen Day. He was a strong advocate for cancer research and therefore, has donated his body to science for cancer research in the hopes that others might be helped. He was a wonderful son, brother, partner and friend. He was employed at Ricoh Business Solutions USA as the Southeast Regional Support Manager. He had close ties to all of his co-workers and was respected and loved by all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy, Al. with visitation at 1:00 and memorial service at 2:00.

He is survived by his friend and partner, John Taylor; mother Jennifer McLendon; sister Patricia Day; step-mother Margaret Day; niece Nikki Martin; three great-nephews Will Martin, Frankie Ledbetter, Allen Ledbetter; uncles Jimmy Day, Robert Day, Douglas Day (Jan), Joey Day (Michelle), Gary Day; aunts Burnice Cole, Joyce Ammons; numerous cousins; and special friends Shela Skinner, Bobby Brooks, Doug Ledbetter, Bob Wilson, David Reeves, Robert Johnson, Randy West, Jason Fulmer, Terry Grant, Darwin Singleton, Rafael Maldenado, Tad Driggers, Rick Sherman, Joy & Fred Allen, Darrell Clemmons, and Elizabeth Vernon.

He is preceded in death by his father William Ray Day; paternal grandparents George and Louise Day; maternal grandparents Oscar (Doc) and Nora McLendon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
