HEADLAND. . .Annie Louise “Ann” Parish, a resident of Headland, died Sunday night, April 2, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish family lot in the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.

Flower will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church “Bridge To Tomorrow” Building Fund, 301 E. Church Street, Headland, AL 36345.

Ann Parish was born in Georgia and lived her early childhood in Galveston, Texas. She moved to Headland with her family in 1954 and graduated from Headland High School in 1957. Ann received a B.S. Degree in Education from Troy University and a Master’s Degree in Library Media from Auburn University. She later received a degree in Counseling from Troy University. Ann was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Sorority. She retired from Wells Fargo Bank as a teller. In earlier years, she was employed at the Harry N. Mixon School in Ozark as an elementary school teacher and librarian. Ann was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Teresa Morriss Sunday School Class and also served as church clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert Parish and Mary Louise Barbaree Parish, a brother, Robert Gene Parish and a brother-in-law, Tommy Stone Chancellor.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Betty Parish Chancellor, Troy, AL; a sister-in-law, Sheila Parish, Crestview, FL; nieces, Kaye Chancellor Davis (Glen), and Andrea Parish Jockers (Brian); nephews, Michael Williams and Brandon Parish; several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Gregg Armstrong, Mac Davis, Don McClendon, Bob F. Williams, Larry Wells and Donnie Smith.
