After storms washed away games on Thursday, Charles Henderson finally began play in the Fort Payne Baseball Tournament on Friday with a dominating win over Ashville 15-5.

The Trojans scored in three of the four innings they came up to the plate including six runs in both the first and second innings.

The Trojans finished with 10 hits. Hunter Reeves finished 3-4 at the plate with one RBI, while Jabronski Williams went 2-2 with two RBIs. Graham Wilkes led the team in RBIs with four.

Grant Hughes got the start for the Trojans. He pitched the first two innings allowing one run on two hits. Bradley Paramore also got in the game, pitching two innings of shut out baseball.

The Trojans fell behind 1-0 in the first, but came back with six runs in the bottom half of the inning. Jackson Murphy drove in both Reeves and Noah Lowery with a single, followed by another two run single by Williams. Wilkes and Williams both scored on a wild pitch to bring the score to 6-1.

Wilkes smashed a grand slam in the second inning to give the Trojans a 10-1 lead in the second inning. Devan Suddith and Reeves also had RBIs in the innings to give the Trojans their second six run inning.

Ashville scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings to cut the Trojans lead to 12-5 heading into the bottom of the fourth innings.

The Trojans finished Ashville off in the fourth when they added three more runs on three hits.

CHHS 6 Guntersville 4

The Trojans scored in every inning but the fourth in game two and defeated Guntersville 6-4.

Reeves got the start for the Trojans and lasted six innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out six batters. Wilkes came in and pitched the seventh inning for the Trojans.

Charles Henderson had three hits by Bryson Gandy, Williams and Hughes.

Jackson Murphy drove in two runs, one in the first on a ground out and one in the second on a sacrifice fly to score Hughes. Gandy had the lone other official RBI in the first inning when he singled in Carson Tucker.
