TB&T plans events to mark Community Banking Month

Published 3:00 am Friday, March 31, 2017

Troy Bank and Trust will recognize Community Banking Month in April—a month dedicated to celebrating the longstanding tradition of local hometown community banking.

Throughout the month, customers and members of the community are invited to learn more about community banks, their role in building stronger communities in which they serve and ultimately learn how to grow together. Each week will include different ways TB&T is giving back to customers and ways you can give back to the place you call home.

To kick off the first week, keep up with TB&T on social media to learn firsthand how to “Grow Your Mind”. They will be sharing information on how banking locally directly affects the place you call home, their role in the community and provide resources regarding financial literacy to help parents and teachers.

Take an opportunity to “Grow Your Heart” starting the second week, April 10, through the end of the month. You are invited to participate in a canned food drive benefiting the local Salvation Army chapter. Members of the community are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations to any TB&T location.

During the third week of April, stop by any TB&T location to choose from seed packets of daisies, sweet basil, cucumbers, zinnia, and parsley. Plant them on Earth Day, April 22, to ”Grow Your Environment” and keep your community beautiful!

“Grow Your Money” week will wrap up Community Banking Month as TB&T shares helpful tips and tricks on social media on how to make the most of your money. Employees will also be in local elementary schools on April 27, “Teach Children to Save Day”, teaching fifth graders money skills and budgeting.

“We are so excited for Community Banking Month this year!” said Dianna Lee, Marketing and Public Relations Officer. “Troy Bank is so invested in the communities we serve and this is a great time to recognize and celebrate these relationships.”
