Trojans head to conference semifinal for the first time since 2010

The Troy Trojans men’s basketball team advanced to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinals on Friday night when they defeated Georgia Southern 90-70. Wesley Person and Jordon Varnado led the way for the Trojans with 26 points. Person converted on seven of eight behind the arc. Varnado also hauled in seven rebounds. Jeremy Hollimon also finished in double figures with 17 points on the night. As a team the Trojans shot 60 percent from the field.

The Trojans led for over 35 minutes on Friday night and led by as many as 26.

With the win the Trojans will take on Georgia State beginning at 2 p.m. It will be the first time the Trojans will play in the semifinals since they reached the championship in 2010.
