Verleane Johnston was born in Gretna, Virginia March 13, 1923 and passed away in Milton, Florida March 1, 2017. Her parents were George and Mamie Creasy.  She lived most of her life in the Brundidge, Alabama area.  She was married to Nathan H. Botts and later to Hubert Johnston. In addition to her husbands and parents she had two brothers (Everett and Ollie Creasy), a sister (Geneva Bennett) and a half –brother (Cecil Cool) all of which predeceased her.   She is survived by her two sons, Nathan (Betsy) and Dewey (Dottie); seven grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnston owned and operated Verleane’s Beauty Shop in Brundidge for many years.  She was most proud of her beautician license that she received in 1956 and took great pride in the service she provided to each patron.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She loved her family and was proud of all their accomplishments.  She is loved by her family and missed by all.
