The Troy Trojans Men’s basketball team has wrapped up the 2016-2017 basketball season and now awaits the start of the Sun Belt Conference basketball tournament in New Orleans.

The Trojans finished the regular season with an 18-14 record and a 10-8 mark within the conference. The 10-8 record was good enough for the Trojans to finish as the sixth seed in the upcoming tournament after they finished in a tie for sixth place with Louisiana. They will take on the 11th seed Appalachian State Mountaineers on Wednesday evening.

The Trojans’ 18 regular season wins was nine more than they got last year when they finished with an overall record of 9-22, making it the largest regular season turnaround since the 1987-1988 season where the Trojans improved by 12 games. There 10-8 conference mark was a six-game improvement from last season.
