Mr. Herbert Larue Ward, 78, of the Spring Hill Community, born March 6, 1938 passed away peacefully Thursday morning, February 16,2017 in his home.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Springhill Baptist Church with Reverend Frank Lowery officiating. Mr. Ward will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Mr. Larue had a true love for restoring vintage motorcycles. In 1973 Mr. Larue and his loving wife Brenda built there family business together through their love of motorcycles and racing, known as

Ward’s Yamaha, in which to this day is still family owned and operated. Mr. Larue had a love for family, friends, and community.

Mr. Larue was preceded in death by his loving wife Brenda S. Ward, whom he loved dearly and his brother Jim Ward.

Mr. Larue was an extremely loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Larue was very proud of his two sons Audie B. Ward (DeAnn), Herbert L Ward (Miracle) and his daughter Teresa Wells (Mark). He was also survived in death by his loving sister-in-law Bernice Ward, wife of Jim Ward; sisters and brothers Mary Jean Massey (Willard), Jimmie Pate, Joanne Champion, Francis Powell(Thomas) and David Powell; grandchildren Chelsei Ward, A.J. Ward (Amy), Troy Ward, Christopher Ward (Kristin), Herbert Ward and Brian Sanders; and great-grandchildren Ryleigh Powell, Colton Ward, Saige Ward, Reese Ward, Hudson Ward and Mary Katherine Ward.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Springhill Baptist Church.
