Joe Titus Gibson, 82, died on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverend Mark Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5 and 7 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

He is survived by his children: David Earl Gibson (Donna), Deborah Gibson, Rita Hipps (Cam), Sandra Dickey (Michael), Patsy Gibson and Bonnie Helms; sister, Eva Nell Edwards; grandchildren: D.J. Gibson, Mark Gibson (Laura), Josh Gibson, Jake Anderson, Charles Corley (Edith), Amanda Peavey (Jeremy), Joseph Dickey, Allison Dickey, Brandon Gibson, Kam Gibson, Keisha Gibson, Kelsey Gibson, Blake Helms and Anna Helms; 5 great-grandchildren; special friend, Betty Palmer; and sisters-in-law, Frances Childs and Christine Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leoma Gibson; sons, Joey Gibson and Michael Gibson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alacare Hospice or American Cancer Society.
