The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans closed out the regular season with a 46-33 win over Dothan on Friday.

The win improves their record to 23-5.

“We won, but we were short on numbers,” said Trojans head coach Dyneshia Jones. “We played smart. We only had six girls out there tonight.”

The Trojans had two players finish in double figures: Maori Davenport who finished with 20 points and Tatyana Siler who finished with 18.

The teams entered the second quarter tied at 14. Siler finished with the first quarter with eight of her 18 points.

The Trojans defense held the Tigers to just three points in the period. Davenport’s seven points helped the Trojans take a 25-17 lead at the half.

The Trojans got production from four different players in the third, stretching the lead to 38-26.

A final push from Siler at the end helped secure the win.

With the regular season now finished, the Trojans set their sights on the area tournament, which begins Tuesday at Brew Tech Magnet School.

“I think we are ready,” Jones said. “We can’t be anything else but ready. We played close to 30 games against the good, the bad and the ugly. This is what we have been working hard for.”
