Kenneth R. “Kip” Hughes, 64, of Terrell County, GA died December 21, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM (Central) at Providence Cemetery in Glenwood, AL.  Pastor Kenneth Baggett and Pastor Oris Sanders will officiate.

 

Born in Troy, AL to the late Gus and Ester Hughes, Kip grew up in Glenwood, Al and served in the Alabama National Guard.  He moved to Albany, GA in 1967 and was the former owner of H H & H Custom Fence and Deck.  Kip also was employed with Atlas Fence Company and Mid

South Fence Company.  He attended Sassser Baptist Church and loved to fish, hunt and work.

 

Survivors include his wife of forty three years, Rose Hughes of Terrell County, GA, three sons, James (Liz) Hughes of Dallas, TX, Paul (Aleshia) Hughes of Lee County, GA and Bryan (Kristy) Hughes of Cabot, AR, three brothers, King Hughes (Sue) of Albany, GA, Bryon (Gloria) Hughes and Fox (Martha) Hughes all of Glenwood, AL, two sisters, Sue Eiland of Brantley, AL and Virginia Blackmon of Glenwood, AL and eight grandchildren, Ashley, Aubri, Tyler, Ashton, Deanna Rose, River, Lukas and Liam.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Henry Hughes, Annie Julia Thompson and Larry Hughes.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
