Jerry Henderson, age 70, of Troy died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home. Jerry was a politician, holding several offices and ended his career as an educator with Troy University in the Political Science department. Born and raised in Troy, Jerry lived most of his life in Montgomery until coming back home to Troy.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral home in Troy.  Survivors include; Daughter and son in law, Zakiya Henderson Stroud and Ray Stroud, grandchildren, Raelyn Stroud, Ray Stroud Jr., Reece Stroud and Ryla Stroud, his siblings, Willie (Mary) Henderson, Cassius Henderson, Governor Henderson, Jim Henderson, Mary Henderson, Jimmie Henderson and Anthony Henderson. Jerry was preceded in death by his ex wife, DJ Henderson, and brothers, Bill William Ellison and Demani Henderson.  The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Henderson family.
