Half of Davenport’s double-double came in the way of blocks when she finished with 10 on the night.

“Maori Davenport is an awesome defender,” Taylor said. “You can tell that by her blocked shots. She is now averaging about 10 blocks per game. She was a big help to the team as far as keeping the other team from scoring.”

The Trojans held the lead from the beginning of game and coasted to the easy win thanks to good defensive play.

“We had a lot of steals tonight as well,” Taylor said. “We played aggressive on the front end and our guards were able to get some steals to help give us some points down the stretch.”

Along with her 10 blocks, Davenport finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Niaira Jones tied the team high 14 points with six assists and 11 steals. Tatyana Siler also finished with 14 points and she also had seven rebounds.

The Trojans will be back in action today when they take on Eufaula beginning at 6:45 p.m.
