Rep. Boothe plays an integral role in developing a statewide water policy in Alabama and currently serves as Co-Chair of the interim Water Policy and Management Join Legislative Committee.

Rep. Boothe believes that a comprehensive statewide water policy is essential for the wise use of water and an opportunity to use water resources for the growth and development of our state and assist farmers who suffer with drought conditions.

“We have been very blessed with water and I’ve always seen the value of conservation and especially recognize the benefits when our state is suffering from tough drought conditions,” said Boothe. “Irrigation can create jobs and there is data that suggests that 26,000 jobs can be created with every 100,000 acres of farm land irrigated.”

“It’s our jobs as legislators to be fund your organizations and be proactive. Because of your boots on the ground network, we can continue to provide citizens the ability to protect the land and keep it working,” said Boothe.

Boothe is serving in his 5th term in the Alabama House of Representatives. He represents District 89, which covers Dale and Pike counties.

He holds an influential position as Chairman of the Internal Affairs Committee. He also serves as a member of Finance Taxation and Education Committee, which funds education related services, including the K-12 Foundation and Higher Education programs.

AACD President Laslie Hall commended Rep. Boothe for being accessible and providing the leadership qualities that he thinks are important.
