Theresa Trawick, librarian, said every child who visits with Santa Claus Saturday will receive a book.

Children of all ages are encouraged to “snuggle up with a good book” during Christmas vacation. The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library has book titles for every interest and for every reading level and a ton of books for mom and dad to read to the kids.

Christmas story books are at the top of the reading list for the month of December.

And, for the adult patrons of the library, the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library is sponsoring a Winter Reading Contest for Adults beginning January 1 and ending on March 15.

The contest is for Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library card holders ages 18 and older. Library memberships are available at the library for those who would like to participate in the reading contest.

Trawick said the contest is just another way to promote reading and encourage people to visit the library.

“Those who enter the Winter Reading Contest for Adults must read five books — four fiction and one non-fiction – on any subject, ” Trawick said. “Each reader will be given forms to complete when they complete each book, questions such as what they thought of the book.

The readers’ names will be entered in a drawing for a variety of prizes including books. The grand prize winner will receive $100.

“We encourage people of all ages to visit the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library and make reading a priority during the winter months,” Trawick said.
