Clio parade set for Saturday

The Town of Clio will host its 2016 Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Clio. Everyone is invited to this special Christmas event.

Walking participants, floats and other motorized units are to lineup on Louisville Street by 4:30 p.m. The Christmas Parade will proceed south on Louisville Street and turn west on Brundidge Street at the traffic light and end at the park.

“Everyone is encouraged to bring their blankets and portable chairs for additional activities following the Christmas Parade at the David S. Grice Memorial Park,” said Kenneth Williams, parade committee member. “We’ll have caroling and the Lighting of the Clio Christmas Tree. Everyone will be invited to make s’mores by the campfire. Foods and drinks will be available at the park.”

The word from the North Pole is that Santa Claus will make a special visit to be a part of the parade and to hear the Christmas wishes of all the children. “We invite everyone to join the family friendly Christmas events in Clio on Saturday,” Williams said.
