A Troy man was found guilty on Wednesday of rape in the first degree and sodomy in the first degree.

The jury unanimously found Larodis Vintrell Wilson, 27, guilty of the charges.

The charges were for events that occurred during the summer of 2010, when Wilson, then 21, raped and sodomized a 10-year-old girl.

Jon Folmar, the prosecutor in the case, said that the victim knew Wilson and that Wilson had visited her home.

“This is a victory for every young child in that situation,” Folmar said. “This should not be tolerated. Those who commit these horrendous acts should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Wilson’s sentencing is scheduled for November 22. Folmar said that the probation office will investigate Wilson’s background and issue a report to the court to aid in sentencing. Witness testimonies and recommendations will also be considered.

Both charges are Class A felonies punishable by no less than 10 years in prison and up to 99 years or life in prison.

The court will pronounce Wilson guilty at his sentencing.
