The Johnson Center for the Arts’ new art space at 303 East Walnut Street opened Thursday afternoon with a full house of youngsters who are eager young artists. Day Barnes, pictured, is the first artist to offer her talents to teach a class at the new art space.  The new art space is available to artists who are interested in teaching an art class – art, music and theater. A fee is charged for the classes.

The new art space is yet to be named and the community is invited to suggest names through Sept. 25. The individual whose suggestion is chosen as the name for the new art space will receive a family membership to the Johnson Center and a party for 10 at The Studio. To enter, call 670-2287 or visit the Johnson Center.
