Betty Jo May Hunt, age 79, from Troy, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hephzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery with Jeremy Powell, Drew Powell, Ryan Powell, Michael Byrd, Todd Reaves, and Tommy Woodard serving as pallbearers. Danny Floyd and Mark Powell will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Hunt was a longtime member of Hephzibah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe May and Ethel Mae Ledbetter May and step-mother, Lula Mae May; granddaughter, Lacie Edwards; sister, Janice May Bryan; and son-in-law, Bobby Joe Edwards. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Marie) Floyd, Carolyn (Robert) Powell, Linda Floyd, and Shirley Hunt; grandchildren, Becky Parker, Danny Floyd, Carrie (Michael) Byrd, Dana (Todd) Reaves, Amy (Tommy) Woodard, Mark Powell, Jeremy (Misty) Powell, Ryan Powell, Drew (Miranda) Powell, and Robyn Edwards; great-grandchildren, Joshua Parker, Emily Parker, Sarah Parker, Kimberly Byrd, Justin Byrd, Grace Reaves, Tristan Reaves, Auburn Woodard, TJ Woodard, Molly Powell, Ana Powell, Claire Powell, Clay Powell, Ryleigh Kate Powell, Evie Powell, and Gentry Powell; numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
