Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Patterson of Hartselle, Ala. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Brooke Patterson, to Jonathan Michael Elrod, son of Mike and Julie Elrod of Wetumpka, Ala.

Miss Patterson is a 2014 Troy University graduate. She earned a Bachelor of Science in multimedia journalism with a minor in public relations. Patterson worked for The Messenger from Dec. 2014 to Dec. 2015 and is continuing to pursue a career in journalism and public relations.

Elrod is a Troy University 2015 graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education and is pursuing his career.

Patterson and Elrod are active members of The Vine Church dream team and worship team.

Patterson and Elrod will exchange wedding vows on April 9, 2016 at Stonebridge Farms in Cullman, Ala.
