A new face in the world of medicine has arrived in Troy.
Dr. Baoquang Le, D.O. came to Troy and began working at Troy Regional Medical Center, joining the practice of Chuck Wood, M.D.
Le attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 2008. He began his practice in New Jersey and moved to Troy in Nov. 2014 with his wife, Tina, and his 3-year-old son, Ethan, when he discovered the need for a physician here.
“Troy Regional Medical Center is so excited to have Dr. Le join the medical staff and the practice of Dr. Chuck Wood,” said Teresa Grimes, TRMC Chief Executive Officer.
“He and his family moved here in late November, and Dr. le has been busy since that first day. It has been a pleasure to have him on staff and have his young family with him here in the Troy community.”
“The people are very courteous,” Le said about the people in Troy.
“I wanted to take on the challenge of the practice in a rural area and maybe see some interesting pathology that I had never seen before,” Le said.
So far, Le has seen some challenges, but has embraced them.
“Where I practiced before, there were a lot of specialists,” he said. “Here, it’s harder to find specialists.”
Le said that patients might need care that is not offered in our area, causing them to travel; however, appointments may not be available in a timely manner. Le will do all he can to learn how to care for their case, and allow them to be taken care of before the patient can see the specialist.
Le has a passion for getting his patients to stop smoking and to fight obesity and morbid obesity.
“If I can get people to stop smoking and lose weight to be more healthy, then I’ll be happy,” he said. “My goal as a family physician is to take care of my patients to prevent further complications down the road.”
