Leading the Patriots on defense was Max Copeland with five tackles. Spencer Floyd followed close behind Copeland with four tackles and one interception. Reed Johnson also had two interceptions for the Patriots.

Johnson led the Patriots offensively with 119 rushing yards on 13 carries. Quarterback Reed Jinright had 67 rushing yards on five carries.

Allen said Floyd and Johnson’s interceptions came at a crucial points during the game.

“They were great plays,” Allen said. “We knew Hooper liked to throw the ball around. We knew they liked to work out of the spread. We worked extremely hard. I’m proud of the way the kids played and proud of the way they created turnovers.”

The Patriots are currently on a three-game winning streak, and Allen said he was proud of the way the team had been playing.

“I’m proud of the team as a whole,” Allen said. “They’ve played well over the last few weeks. We’ve got a challenge in front of us with Edgewood. Edgewood has a very good team.”

The JV Patriots are currently 3-2-1 for the season and will face Edgewood next Tuesday at home. Kickoff for the JV game is slated for 7 p.m.

Allen said the team would continue to work on fundamentals and create turnovers during the game.

“They’re very fast on both sides of the ball,” Allen said. “We’re just going to continue to do what we do, work on our fundamentals, stop the ball stop the run and try and create turnovers.”
