The Troy Arts Council will kick off its annual Patron’s Drive from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday at the Troy Tourism and Troy Arts Council boardroom at 113 North Market Street in Troy.

Cookies and lemonade will be served and a door prize will be given. Everyone who has an interest in the arts is invited and encouraged to come.

Ruth Walker, TAC president, said the TAC calendar of events for 2014-2015 is exciting.

“The calendar is versatile and offers something of interest for everyone who enjoys the cultural arts,” Walker said. “We are especially proud to bring the Vienna Boys Choir back to Troy. The boys choir has been one of our most popular events and we have had many requests to bring them back.”

Walker said other calendar events include the Vivace Music Group, Sally Mayes, a Broadway Babe, the Harlem String Quartet and the Texas Guitar Quartet.

“Of course, the Shelia Jackson and Company holiday concert is always one of our most popular performances,” Walker said. “We always look forward to that. And, we close out our calendar season with the Southeast Alabama Community Band Concert, which is free to the public.”

Walker said those who attend the Patron Kick-Off on Thursday will have an opportunity to learn more about the TAC, the entertainment opportunities it brings to town and the many ways it supports the arts in the community.

“We’ll have brochures with information about our events and activities and, of course, patrons will be able to purchase their season tickets,” she said.

Patron contribution levels range from $25 to $500.

Friends of the TAC contributions are $25-$74 with no season ticket. Student season tickets are $25.

Contribution levels with season tickets begin with the Supporter level at $75 and include one season ticket. The Patron Level is from $126-$175 and includes two season tickets. Other Patron levels are Grand Patron, $176-$250, three season tickets; Benefactor, $251-$400, four season tickets; and Grand Benefactor, $401-$500, six season tickets.

Corporate sponsorships are available from $100 to $5,000 and more.

Donations may be made to the TAC in honor or memory of a loved one or as a special gift.

“The TAC invites all of those who support the arts in our community to become a contributing patron during this calendar season,” Walker said.
