The Troy Police Department is seeking information that would lead to the arrest of the person responsible for a Sunday night shooting on the 700 block of Hanchey Street.
The suspect shot two siblings, said Lt. Bryan Weed of the Troy PD.
“Neither one of them received any life-threatening injuries,” Weed said.
The incident was reported at around 11:45 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, only one victim was there.
The man had been shot twice in the leg and once in the arm. He said he did not know the man who had shot him.
According to the victim’s account, the shooter and the victim’s brother were arguing and he tried to be the peacekeeper. In the middle of the argument, the shooter started firing a gun at the brothers.
The victim’s brother was found at Troy Regional Medical Center emergency room with one bullet wound on his leg.
“The one in the emergency room was uncooperative,” Weed said.
The victim refused to identify the shooter or tell investigators anything about the circumstances that brought him to the emergency room Sunday.
The incident is under investigation. The police ask that anyone with information about the crime call the Troy Police Department at 566-0500, the Secret Witness line at 566-5555 or CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP.
Callers may choose not to give their name.
