Crenshaw County shooting leaves one dead

A Troy university student is dead and another is in custody following a early New Year’s Day shooting in Crenshaw County.
Kristin Fuller, of Luverne, was shot and killed at a residence on County Road 29 between Troy and Luverne.
Taylor Driggers, of Brantley, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the incident.
The shooting took place between midnight and 4:30 a.m. The shooting is still under investigation by Crenshaw county officials.

UPDATE 7:31 p.m. Troy University officials released a statement regarding the shooting death of student Kristin Fuller
The Troy University family is saddened to learn of the death of TROY freshman student Kristin Fuller, 18, of Luverne, earlier today, as the result of an incident in Crenshaw County. That incident remains under investigation by the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department.
The University extends its most sincere sympathies to the Fuller family during this difficult time.
A Troy University student, 19 year-old Taylor Driggers, of Brantley, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter by Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department. Driggers signed with TROY to play football in Feb. 2013, but he has yet to join the team. It was anticipated that he would join the team in the spring or summer of 2014.
