Amos Lovett

Amos Lovett of Troy passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL. He was 70. Funeral services for Amos Lovett will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Minister Floyd Noble officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery at Shellhorn with Skeen Funeral Home directing. Mr. Lovett will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the chapel one hour prior to the service. Visitation for Amos Lovett will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Lovett was born February 16, 1942 in Mobile, son of the late Mannie Milton Lovett and Alice Marleen Mister Lovett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Lovett; two sisters, Carol and Darlene Lovett; and mother-in-law, Gertrude Register.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Jewel Lovett, Troy; children and spouses, Dewayne (Anita) Lovett and Rhonda (Bryant) Senn all of Troy; and Amos Lovett, Jr. Hightower, MN; grandchildren and spouses, Tiffany Eiland, Fountain, FL; Ashley (Derrel) Hagler, Hope Griffin, Tara (Dustin) Routzong and Justin (Caitlin) Senn all of Troy; Thomas James McDevitt, New Market, AL; and Wade Lovett, Hightower, MN; great grandchildren: Marissa Donaldson, Landon Routzong and Kenna Senn all of Troy; brother-in-law: Jimmy Register, Troy; sister, Joann Nixon, Hattiesburg, MS; and Dorothy Elliott, Jacksonville, FL; special family friends, Rebecca Hennigan, Troy; Amber Donaldson, Fountain, FL; Rex Ingram and son Reed Ingram, Montgomery.
