Two Troy men were arrested Thursday afternoon on a drug charge stemming from a felony warrant out of Georgia.

Troy Police received information that Harold Lee Horton, 24, was living in Troy and wanted in Georgia for possession of marijuana. Horton also had an outstanding felony warrant with the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.

Police went to Horton’s home on Gibbs Street about 1 p.m. Thursday. Horton answered the door and was taken into custody without incident.

Another man, Terrance Robert Chima Nwsou, 19, was also at the home and ran into a bedroom, closing the door behind him. When Nwsou opened the door, officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the room and saw a green leafy substance lying on the floor.

After obtaining a search warrant for the apartment to look for narcotics, a large quantity of a green leafy product and a silver Smith & Wesson .38-caliber revolver was seized at the home. The gun was reported stolen out of Madison County.

Both Horton and Nwosu were arrested for first-degree possession of marijuana. Their bonds were set at $7,500 each and the men were transported to the Troy Police Department and later transferred to the Pike County Jail.
