Charles Henderson defeats top-ranked Brantley

BRANTLEY – Austin Ingram picked up his first career varsity win on the mound for Charles Henderson as the Trojans defeated Class 1A’s top-ranked Brantley High School, 12-8 on Tuesday.

Ingram pitched 2 2/3 innings, striking out two batters in relief of starter Luke Hastings. Jalin Lawson earned the save by pitching a scoreless seventh.

Offensively, Gregory Barnette was 3-for-4 with a double. Jalin Lawson was 2-for-3 with a three-run homerun and a double to finish with four RBI.

Joey Denison was 2-for-4 with a trio of RBI while Hastings ended the night 3-for-4 with two RBI.

The Trojans will host Rehobeth on Thursday at Frazier Field. Game time is set for 5p.m.
