Annie Banning

Annie June Wood Spivey Banning, age 86, of Troy died on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Troy Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 26, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Rabon Spivey officiating.  Burial followed in the Belser Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.  Visitation was held Monday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Herring (Jim) Starling of Troy; grandchildren, Sherry Campbell, Scott (Dana) Barlow, Tonya (Frankie) Nelson, Candy Barlow; great grandchildren, Kyel, Cameron, Jackson, Christopher, Katie, Tayler, Ashton, Stephen, Cadey, Nicolas, Alison and Sam; great-great grandchildren, MaKenzie and Chandler; a brother, William F. “W.F.” Wood; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Curtis Spivey and Sylvan Banning, a daughter, Anna Lou Barlow, and seven brother and sisters.

Mrs. Banning retired from American Family Life after several years as a cancer insurance salesperson.
