Liberty Kilpatrick, a Pike County High School senior, won the title of Miss Brundidge 2012 at the annual pageant Saturday night and Emily Claire Bryan, a first grade student at Banks Primary School, won the title of Little Miss Brundidge.

Kilpatrick also won the Miss Congeniality and interview awards. Bryan won the on-stage appearance, interview and on-stage question.

The two young misses will represent the city of Brundidge at local events throughout the year and at the National Peanut Festival pageant in the fall.

Kilpatrick said wearing the title of Miss Brundidge has long been a dream of hers.

“I want to represent Brundidge because it’s where I go to school,” she said. “Brundidge feels like my hometown because it’s such a wonderful town. It’s a small town and we all know each other and support each other. We’re like one big family here.”

Kilpatrick said she is looking forward to the many opportunities to be an active part of the community and build new friendships.

She is a PCHS cheerleader, a Junior Ambassador, a member of the school choir and is enrolled in Global Studies.

“I plan to go to Huntingdon College and major in psychology,” she said. “I want to have a studio for young people where they can participate in the arts. I love drawing and dancing. The arts provide many opportunities for young people to express themselves and I think that’s important.”

Emily Bryan admitted that she was a little “scared” when she stepped on stage in the Little Miss Brundidge pageant.

“I was afraid that they were going to ask me to sing,” she said. “And I didn’t want to.”

However, Bryan said that she likes to sing and, when she sings, she sings country.

Bryan had no stage fright during the interview process of the pageant. She had an answer to all the questions.

“The judge asked me what was my favorite color and I said it was blue because if you put it with orange, ‘War Eagle!’” she said, laughing.

Bryan already has an idea for something that she would like to initiate during her reign as Little Miss Brundidge.

“I want to have a puppy parade,” Bryan said, with a smile. “I’ve got two dogs and I think that would be a lot of fun.”

Other title winners were Petite Miss Brundidge Emily Hussey, Banks Primary School; Junior Miss Brundidge Korbin Adams, Banks Middle School; Teen Miss Brundidge Aimee Frankum, Pike County High School; Young Miss Brundidge Tacy Glenda Gail Cates, Banks Primary School.

The runners up for Little Miss Brundidge are Gabrielle Renee LeVeque, first; Jhiayla White, second; and Talaysha Reynolds, third.

Miss Brundidge runners up were Katie Powell, first; Margan Celeste Senn, second; Vivian Golden, third; and Queenettta Jones, fourth.

Runners up in the Petite Miss division were Catharine Stockstill, first, and Anna Katelyn Trawick, second.

Young Miss runners up were Carsyn Bailey Cates, first, Mattie Mae Brooks, second; Magnolia Mancella, third.

Junior Miss runner up was Whitney Brook McMillon.

Teen Miss runner up was Acacia James.

Katie Powell won the evening gown competition and verbal communication awards in the Miss Brundidge competition.

Vivian Golden, PCHS won the Spirit of Brundidge award.
