Julius Brown accepts position as cornerbacks coach

Troy head football coach Larry Blakeney told The Messenger on Saturday that Julius Brown has accepted a position as the Trojans new cornerbacks coach.

Brown has served as an assistant at Boise State for the past five seasons under head coach Chris Peterson, the last three as Director of Player Personnel.

Brown, a graduate of Boise State, played defensive back for Broncos from 2000-03 and was a member of the school’s 2002 and 2003 Western Athletic Conference championship teams.

Brown has also worked with wide receivers and served as assistant director of football operations in 2007 and 2008.

While Brown full list of responsibilities at Troy have yet to be determined, Blakeney said he was enthusiastic about the hire and feels Brown will be a great addition to the Trojans coaching staff.
