The Rev. Harold Cannon

Rev. Harold L. Cannon, age 96, of Luverne, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Crown Health Center in Greenville. Graveside services for Mr. Cannon will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Highland Home with Rev. Chuck Francisco officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation was held Friday, January 27, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Rev. Cannon retired as an engineer at L&N Railroad, graduated from Graceville, FL Bible College, and was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church in Davenport, AL.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Faye Cannon; three sons, Harold Leroy Cannon, James Paul Cannon, and Richard Cannon; step-daughter, Leslie Henderson Hartley; and step-son, Archie Paul Shiver, Jr.

He is survived by three daughters, Ruth Bayman (Kurt), Mary Elizabeth Tyus (Robert), and Glenda F. Singleton; great-granddaughter, Valerie Schofield (Josh); 20 grandchildren , 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
