The Troy Board of Adjustments met Thursday afternoon and approved two requests for set-back variances.

The first item approved was for a side yard set back and building floor area variance to construct a new commercial building at 513 S. Brundidge St.

Michael Russell with WJR Properties explained that he’d like to build a structure to house a combination restaurant – Subway and Taco del Mar. The proposed plan would call for a 2,400-square-foot building that would be shorter in width than the current structure. Russell said he also needed a side-yard variance to allow for vehicles to pull into a back parking area.

The second item considered and approved was for a set-back variance to construct an addition to an existing office building located at 801 Franklin Dr.

Buck Watkins with Watkins Consulting Engineering presented plans for an expansion to Southern Health Associates, LLC.

The addition will be 5,400-square-foot facility with the first floor housing exam rooms, a nurses’ station, radiology and reception. The second floor will be the location for doctors’ offices, a break room and storage.
