Bethesda Restoration Outreach Worship Center in Brundidge will host the “My Sisters’ Keeper” Women Conference 2011 at 7 p.m. nightly Oct. 19-23 at the Center at 129 South Main Street in Brundidge.

The Women’s Conference will be led by Evangelist Sheila Erkins, Prophetess Paulette Singleton and Pastors Linda Dunn and Tonya Cogburn.

Patricia Valentine, event coordinator, said the conference is biblically based on Luke 10:30.

“The scripture says, ‘A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment and wounded him and departed leaving him half dead,’ and that is the scripture that we take forward to the ‘My Sisters’ Keeper’ Women’s Conference,” Valentine said.

“The conference is about taking care of one another. It’s about reaching out to those in need. It’s about not passing each other by.”

Valentine said the conference is directed toward the women who are sisters in Christ.

“We will talk as sisters in Christ about recognizing, seeking out and helping those who are in need,” she said.

“We must be aware of those who are having difficulties and not walk around them and simply say, ‘It’s not my problem.’

“When we see others in need, it should be our problem and we should be willing to do something about it.”

Lending help to others can be done in different ways – perhaps a kind word or a thoughtful deed.

“Whatever your part may be, it is up to you to do what you can, however you can,” Valentine said.

The women who attend the conference are invited to wear specific colors each night of the conference to show solidarity – navy blue on Wednesday, white on Thursday, black on Friday and red on Sunday.

However, Valentine said the wearing of the colors in not required. It’s optional.

The guest minister on Wednesday will be Prophetess Paulette Singleton, with Evangelist Sheila Erkins, Thursday; Pastor Linda Dunn, Friday; and Pastor Tonya Cogburn, Sunday.

Local women who will take leads in the conference are Pam Daniels, Vanessa Harvey, Janet McCray, Cassandra Dixon and Nekeshia Williams.

“We have so many women coming together in this call to service,” Valentine said. “The call to service is in our homes, our churches, our communities, wherever we can serve in such a way as to make that place better.

“I encourage all women to come to My Sisters’ Keeper Women’s Conference 2011 and bring someone to enjoy the word of God.”
