The Concerned Christians of Brundidge are breaking with tradition this fall by extending its annual Walk for Jesus Festival to include a three-day “Old Fashioned Tent Revival.”

The revival services will begin tonight at Galloway Park and continue through Thursday. Services begin nightly at 6 p.m.

Friday will be used in preparation for Saturday’s “Walk for Jesus.”

Minister Willie Moultry, Concerned Christians of Brundidge (C.C.O.B.) acting president, said the tent revival services will be primarily preaching and singing.

“Our mission is to take Jesus outside the four walls of the church to those who don’t get to hear the gospel,” Moultry said. “In order to do that, the saints have to be here. We are going to reap the lost.”

This will be the 12th year for the Walk for Jesus Festival and many have come to know Jesus through this ministry.

“They have taken Jesus into their hearts,” Moultry said. “When they do, we encourage them to find a church of their choice. It doesn’t matter where as long as they find a church.”

The guest minister for tonight’s Old Fashioned Tent Revival is Pastor Jeremiah Toney, Changing Hearts Ministry, Troy.

“On Wednesday, we have a newcomer to our area, Pastor Joseph Cotton, who brought revival to the Pronto Community,” Moultry said. “He is pastor of Jesus Christ the Bible Way Church on Highway 231 in Brundidge.”

On Thursday night, Moultry, New Hope Independent Holiness Church in Brundidge, will deliver God’s message.

The Old Fashioned Tent Revival and the March for Jesus Festival are non-denominational events.

“With these events, we are crossing all barriers,” Moultry said. “We want everyone to come and be blessed by these revival services and the Walk for Jesus Festival on Saturday. It doesn’t matter where you go to church or, if you don’t, everyone is invited.”
