Katherine P. Messick

Katherine P. Messick, of Troy AL. passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Troy Regional Medical Center. She was 88. Funeral services for Katherine P. Messick will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from the Chapel of Skeen Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Keith Price and Pastor Chris Story officiating. Burial will follow in Mossy Grove Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service. Katherine P. Messick was born January 30, 1923 in Pike County, AL, daughter of the late Joseph Price and Annie Folmer Price. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Judy (Michael) Baxter, Troy; 4 grandsons: Chris Messick, Wayne Messick, and Jason Padilla all of Troy; Micheal Wood, Toledo, OH; 2 granddaughters: Dionne Wood, Toledo, OH; and Kristie Hasty, Troy, MO: great grandchildren: Jordyn Messick, Middleburg, FL; Robert Baxter, Charleston, S.C; Ashley Baxter, Richard Baxter and Roger Baxter all of Troy; Madison Padilla and A. J. Padilla, both of Pensacola, FL; sister: Elsie Hester, Troy; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Messick, son, Charles Wayne Messick, great grandson, Cory Messick, parents and 14 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Mike Baxter, Richard Baxter, Roger Baxter, Chris Messick, Wayne Messick and Micheal Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Padilla and Ricky Messick. Memorials may be made to Mossy Grove Cemetery Fund.
