Willie Bryan

Willie Bryan of Brundidge Alabama died, Thursday, August 25, 2011 of a heart attack while on vacation in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was 67.

Funeral services for Willie Bryan will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Springfield Baptist Church, 4507 County Rd. 4421, Brundidge, AL, with Rev. Ken Baggett and Rev. Oris Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing, with full Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army, Ft. Rucker, AL.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church one hour prior to the service.

Willie was born in Black, Alabama October 1, 1943, son of Lovie and Marvin Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray.

Survivors are: his wife, Virginia; 2 sons: Mark and Chad, both of Florida; four step-children: Jacki and Beth, both of Atlanta, Georgia; Chuck and Jeff, both of Reno, Nevada; 11 grandchildren: two great grandchildren: 4 brothers: Freeman, Tommie, Jimmie and Junior.

Mr. Bryan held a Masters Degree from Troy State University and retired as Principal from the Holmes County Florida School System after a career of teaching. Willie was also a retired military veteran after 30 years of service in the National Guard.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Sherwood Leavins, Chuck Brackney, Jack Brackney, Larry Vonfeldt, Kris Walker and Ken Walker. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be the members both men’s Sunday School Classes at Springfield Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Springfield Baptist Church. The guest book may be signed and words of condolences may be expressed at www. skeenfuneralhome.com.
